I am honored to be participating in the 2025 Alpha Beautillion supporting the B.E.A.M. Foundation. The Beautillion recognizes young adults like me who are committed to their community and education. As I embark on my journey as a Beau, I would like to request your support in helping me to achieve my goal of being awarded the Alpha Award of Excellence.
I have been an athlete since I can remember. I started competing as a child in church and recreational sports, from baseball, and flag football, to basketball. Basketball is the one sport I immediately took to. By the end of 5th grade, my passion for basketball had exploded. Since then, I have competed in multiple tournaments and have optimized training as hard as I can to improve. Now, I am nearing the end of my Senior Year at Hickory Ridge High School in Harrisburg and I feel every day is a gift, especially after two and a half years in the pandemic. I am grateful to my family and to my supporters for all they do to help me be successful.
In Spring 2024, I was inducted into the National Technical Honor Society. This honor is bestowed upon students who have achieved a GPA of 3.0 or higher, have demonstrated honor and integrity, have dedicated community service, and have shown leadership and responsibility. I am currently working to secure an internship for this upcoming Spring semester to enhance my skills and build relationships outside of my academic career.
I am vested in supporting the community. I volunteer with the Frankie Mae Foundation. This Foundation supports loved ones and caregivers for those with Alzheimer’s and/or dementia. I have participated in various community events such as Trunk or Treats as a Student Council Representative. I have also participated in MLK events and Black History Month events. I have worked part-time as an inventory specialist for New Directions Tire Company during my sophomore, junior, and senior years while actively being involved in extracurricular activities. I have also served on the Usher Board for my family church, Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
I am currently and have been the team captain for our Varsity and Junior Varsity Men’s Basketball team. I believe in sportsmanship first. The sport is the game, and we are all in it together. While I am very competitive, I also want to support all the competitors as we strive to make the sport of basketball great. I work every day to better myself and the team better.
I serve in our Student Government as a Student Representative, and I am involved in our Black Student Union. My career goal is to manage financial portfolios for individuals who dedicate their lives to sports.
